Frequently asked questions.

General

How do I book a session?

You can book by contacting me through my website, email, or social media. You will receive a response within two business days. A deposit and signed contract are required to secure your date.

What’s included in the session fee?

Session fees cover the time spent shooting, professional editing, and a set number of digital images. Prints, albums, or additional images may be available for purchase.

How far in advance should I book?

I recommend booking 4–6 weeks in advance, especially during busy seasons like spring and fall.

How do I prepare for my session?

I provide a preparation guide after booking that includes outfit tips, location suggestions, and what to expect. I would get a haircut or trim about a week before your shoot (nothing too drastic), and go for natural, camera-ready makeup which usually means putting on a little more blush or bronzer than your every day makeup. However, we don’t want anything overly shimmery or heavy.

Clean, trimmed nails are a must and neutral polish is ideal. If you plan on being barefoot or wearing sandals don’t forget your toes! Most of all, rest well, hydrate, and show up ready to have fun—I’ll guide you the whole way!

What if it rains or the weather is bad?

We'll reschedule at no extra cost if the weather isn't cooperating.

When will I get my photos?

Edited images are delivered within 2–3 weeks. Rush edits are available for an additional fee.

Can I get all the raw images?

I don’t provide raw files, as they are unedited and not representative of my final work.

What kind of lighting do you typically use?

I specialize in natural light or outdoor photography, however I do offer flash photography and have a full mobile strobe and beauty dish that can be used for studio, indoor or late-night sessions.

Will you travel?

Yes! While I am located in Katy, TX., I am happy to travel throughout the Greater Houston area without an additional travel fee. Anything outside of Houston and its surrounding suburbs will require a travel fee. Some examples for clarification include Galveston, The Woodlands, Conroe, College Station, or Brenham.

I am open to travel out of state or our of the country as well. Photography fee may be waved in exchange for logging and flight depending on location.

I want to book something that is not listed on your website… is that okay?

Yes! Reach out!! I have shot everything from weddings, sports, to brand shoots. I am open to anything - send me your vision. If I can’t accommodate I will refer you to someone. I know a lot of photographers who specialize in a variety of things that I love and support.

Senior Photography

When is the best time to schedule senior photos?

Late spring through early fall of your senior year is ideal. This allows time for yearbook deadlines and graduation announcements. Busy senior season is April & March. If you would like spring flower fields, book early!

Can I bring outfit changes?

Yes! I recommend bringing 2–3 outfits that feel like you: one casual, one a little dressier, and one tied to your interests (sports, hobbies, etc.). Stick to solid colors or subtle patterns and avoid big logos or neon. Pro-tip for girls: a little flowy white dress ALWAYS looks good.

Can I bring props or pets?

Absolutely. Bring items that reflect your personality—sports gear, musical instruments, pets, etc.

Family Photography

What should we wear?

Coordinating (but not matching) outfits in neutral or complementary colors work best. Think Whites, creams, tans, greens and blues.

How do you handle kids who don’t want to cooperate?

Don’t worry! I work with kids all the time and use games and prompts to keep it fun and relaxed. I love capturing kids being kids. They are typically most comfortable in their own environment so I always recommend an in-home session. As a former teacher you will find that I am very patient.

Can we include extended family?

Yes, but there may be an additional fee for larger groups depending on the session type. I have an extended family package on my family portraits tab!

Lifestyle Photography

What’s the difference between lifestyle and traditional portraits?

Lifestyle sessions focus on capturing candid, natural and authentic moments in your everyday environment rather than posed studio shots. Sessions typically last 60–90 minutes to allow time for genuine interaction.
